If your Sony Smart TV is a 2015 model or newer and is running Android 7.0 or 8.0 then it is supported for Pure Flix.
You can check your current software version by doing the following:
- On the supplied remote, press the HOME button
- Select "Settings"
- Select "System Settings" or "Product Support"
- Select "Customer Support" or "System Information"
- Select "Product Information"
Note: If you have access to the Google Play store on your Sony Smart TV then you have a supported TV.
- Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
- Navigate down to and Select “Google Play Apps”
- Click “Search” at the top left (looks like a magnifying glass)
- Type “Pure Flix”
- Click “Search”
- Select “PureFlix (Android TV)"
- Click “Install” on the Pure Flix app
- When the download finishes click “Open”
When the Pure Flix app has opened sign in with the email address and password you have associated with your Pure Flix account.
Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection
- Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
- Navigate down to and Select “Network”
- Click on the connected network
- Verify that the connection signal strength is Good or Better
Then
- On a Device Connected VIA the same WiFi do the following:
- Go to google.com
- Search “speedtest”
- Click “Run Speed Test”
- Notate the download and upload speed as Pure Flix requires a minimum of 5mbps download
Step 2: Clear the Pure Flix App Data
- Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
- Navigate down to and select “Settings”
- Select “Apps”
- Select “PureFlix (Android TV)”
- Click “Force Stop” (to verify it is not running in the background)
- Click “Clear Cache”
- Click “Clear Data”
Step 3: Restart Your Sony Smart TV
- Point the remote control to the illumination LED and press and hold the POWER button of the remote control for about 5 seconds until a message “Power off” appears.
- TV reboots automatically. Wait for approximately one minute, and the TV will turn back on.
Note: If it does not reboot, press the POWER button on the remote control to turn on the TV. - TV reset operation is complete. Try Pure Flix again.
If you are still experiencing issues please follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall your Pure Flix app.
Step 4: Delete and Reinstall the Pure Flix App
- Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
- Go to and Hold the SELECT button on the “Pure Flix” App
- After a few seconds release it and a trash can will appear
- Move the app to the trash can and click the SELECT button
- Verify by clicking “OK”
- Click “Done”
- Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
- Navigate down to and Select “Google Play Apps”
- Click “Search” at the top left (looks like a magnifying glass)
- Type “Pure Flix”
- Click “Search”
- Select “PureFlix (Android TV)"
- Click “Install” on the Pure Flix app
- When the download finishes click “Open”
