Supported Chromebooks

Any Chromebook with the Google Play store installed on it is supported, as the Pure Flix app will need to be installed on the device to view successfully.

You can check your current software version by doing the following:

  1. Click the Start Menu icon in the bottom left
  2. Search "Settings" in the search bar and select it
  3. On the left side, select "About Chrome OS" at the bottom
  4. Click on "Check for Updates" to verify that you are up to date
Installing Pure Flix
  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Search "Pure Flix"
  3. Select the Pure Flix app
  4. Select "Install"

When the Pure Flix app has finished it's installation, open the app and sign in with the email address and password you have associated with your Pure Flix account.

Chromebook Troubleshooting

Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection

  1. Open the Google Chrome web browser on your chromebook
  2. Go to google.com
  3. Search "Speedtest"
  4. Click on "Start Speed Test"
  5. Once the test has finished, check that your download speed matches our minimum requirements.

Note: If your internet speed is below 0.5mbps, please contact your internet provider in regards to your internet speed, as Pure Flix requires a minimum of 0.5mbps download.

Step 2: Clear the Pure Flix App Cache

  1. Click the Start Menu icon in the bottom left
  2. Search "Settings" in the search bar and select it
  3. Select "Apps"
  4. Select "Manage your apps"
  5. Search "PureFlix" in the top right, and select it
  6. Click "More settings and permissions"
  7. Select "Force Stop"
  8. Once completed, select "Storage"
  9. Select "Clear Storage"

Step 3: Uninstall the Pure Flix app

  1. Click the Start Menu icon in the bottom left
  2. Search "Settings" in the search bar and select it
  3. Select "Apps"
  4. Select "Manage your apps"
  5. Search "PureFlix" in the top right, and select it
  6. Select "Uninstall" in the top right, and confirm it

Step 4: Install the App

  1. Click the Start Menu icon in the bottom left
  2. Search "Play Store" in the search bar and select it
  3. At the top, type "PureFlix" and press "Enter" on the keyboard
  4. Select "Install"

How to turn closed captions on/off
  • Play title
  • Tap the Caption Box in the upper right side of the screen
Note:  If the box has no line through it, closed caption is ON. If the box has a line through it, closed caption is OFF.
How to use

Browse all genres:

  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. From the menu select "Browse All"
Where to change language:
  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap on "Account"
  3. Tap on "Select Language"
  4. Select your desired language
  5. Tap on "OK" to confirm
Favorites:
  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap on "Favorites"
  3. If "Favorites" does not appear as an option, tap on the "email" that is displayed
  4. From the drop down menu, select "Favorites"
Recently viewed:
  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap on "Recently Viewed"
  3. If "Recently Viewed" does not appear as an option, tap on the "email" that is displayed
  4. From the drop down menu, select "Recently Viewed"

My account:

  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap on "Account"

Sign out:

  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap "Logout"
  3. If "Logout" does not appear as an option, tap on the "email" that is displayed
  4. From the drop down menu, select "Logout"

Search titles:

  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap on "Search"

PUREFLIX (used as a Pure Flix Home Key)

  • When this con is selected, it will redirect you to the "Homepage"
