Which Kindle Fire Tablets are supported?

Software Version

Gen 4 and newer

You can check your current software version by doing the following:

  1. Press the "HOME" button on the Fire Tablet
  2. Navigate to and select "Settings"
  3. Select "Device Options"
  4. Select "System Updates"
  5. Select "Check Now"
  6. If an update is available, select "Update"
  7. Verify the Fire OS version (This can be found on the current screen
How do I Install the Pure Flix app on my Kindle Fire Tablet?

You can install the Pure Flix app on your Kindle Fire Tablet by doing the following:

  1. Press the "HOME" button on the Fire Tablet
  2. Navigate to and select "AppStore" (looks like a white box with the word APPS)
  3. Click "Search" at the top right (looks like a magnifying glass)
  4. Type "Pure Flix" and click the magnifying glass to search
  5. Click "Download" on the Pure Flix app
  6. When the download finishes click "Open"
How can I resolve the issues on my Kindle Fire Tablet?

If you are experiencing an issue with the Pure Flix app on your Kindle Fire Tablet, please try resolving the issue with the following steps:

Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection

  1. Press the "Home" button on the Fire Tablet
  2. Navigate to and select "AppStore" (this looks like a white box with the word APPS)
  3. Click "Search" at the top right (this looks like a magnifying glass)
  4. Type "Ookla" and click the magnifying glass to search
  5. Click "Download" on the "Speedtest by Ookla" app
  6. When the download finishes click "Open"
  7. Click "GO" to start the test
  8. Verify the download and upload speed and ensure they match our minimum requirements.
  9. NOTE: If your internet download speed is below 0.5 mbps, please contact your internet provider in regards to your internet speed.

Step 2: Clear the Pure Flix App Data

  1. Press the "Home" button on the Fire Tablet
  2. Navigate to and select "Settings"

Step 3: Delete and reinstall the Pure Flix app

  1. Press the "Home" button on the Kindle Fire Tablet
  2. Press and hold the "Pure Flix" app
  3. After a few seconds, release and it will receive a check mark
  4. Click "Uninstall" at the top right
  5. Verify by clicking "OK"
  6. Press the "Home" button on the Fire Tablet
  7. Navigate to and select "App Store" (this looks like a white box with the words APPS)
  8. Click "Search" at the top right (this looks like a magnifying glass)
  9. Type "Pure Flix" and click the magnifying glass to search
  10. Click "Download" on the Pure Flix app
  11. When the download finishes, click "Open"
How to turn closed captions on/off
  • Play title
  • Tap the Caption Box in the upper right side of the screen
Note: When the box has no line through it, that means closed caption is ON. When the box has a line through it, that means closed caption is OFF 
How to use

Browse all genres:

  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. From the menu, select "Browse All"

Where to change language:

  1. From the Pure Flix homepage in the app, not the website, tap on the three lines located in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Tap on "Account"
  3. Tap on "Select Language"
  4. Select your desired language
  5. Tap on "OK" to confirm

Favorites:

  1. Navigate all the way to the left to find the "Grey Toolbar"
  2. Select "Favorites"

Recently viewed:

  1. Navigate all the way to the left to find the "Grey Toolbar"
  2. Select "History"

My account:

  1. Navigate all the way to the left to find the "Grey Toolbar"
  2. At the very bottom you will find an icon with either "Initials" or the "email" you are signed into.
  3. Select the icon to access the "Account" page.

Sign out:

  1. Navigate all the way to the left to find the "Grey Toolbar"
  2. At the very bottom you will find an icon with either "Initials" or the "email" you are signed into.
  3. Select the icon
  4. Select "Logout"

Search titles:

  1. Navigate all the way to the left to find the "Grey Toolbar"
  2. Select "Search"
  3. Type in at least three letter for search results to populate
  4. Select the desired "Movie Title"

Home:

  1. Navigate all the way to the left to find the "Grey Toolbar"
  2. Select "Home"
