Are all Chromecasts supported?

At this time, we are currently only supported through the Chromecast device, 3rd Generation. We are not supported for any built-in casting options on TV's, including built-in Chromecast. You will need a separate Chromecast device to cast Pure Flix to your TV.

How do I cast from my Apple device to my Chromecast?

You can cast from your supported Apple device to your external Chromecast by doing the following:

  1. Go to your supported Apple devices home screen.

  2. Go to the App Store.

  3. Search for the Pure Flix app.

  4. Click on the Pure Flix app in the App Store.

  5. Click on “Get” (in some cases there could be a Cloud icon as it may have been downloaded before).

  6. Once you have completed the download, verify that both your Apple device and the Chromecast device are connected to the same WiFi.

  7. Open the Pure Flix app.

  8. Click on the Chromecast icon in the upper right of the screen.

  9. Then select your Chromecast device.

  10. Select a title and tap play to start casting.

How do I resolve the issues on casting to my Apple device?

If you are experiencing an issue with casting to your Apple device please try resolving the issue with the following steps:

Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection

  1. Open the Safari web browser on your Apple device.
  2. Go to google.com
  3. Search "Speedtest"
  4. Click on "Start Speed Test"
  5. Once the test has finished, check that your download speed matches our minimum requirements.

Step 2: Check iPhone Storage

  1. Go to the home screen on your device.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Go to General.
  4. Select "iPhone Storage".
  5. Scroll to find "Pure Flix".
  6. Offload the Pure Flix app.

Step 3: Check the Firmware version of your Chromecast Device

  • Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  • Touch and hold your device's tile.
  • Tap Settings and then Device information.
  • Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX."
Step 4: Uninstall the Pure Flix app
  • Click “Home” button
  • Go to the page with the “PureFlix” App
  • Press and Hold the Pure Flix App
  • When the app starts to shake remove your finger
  • Click the X that appears at the top left of the App
  • Click “Delete
  • Click the “Home” button to stop the apps from shaking

Step 5: Reinstall the Pure Flix App

  1. Go to the home screen on your device.
  2. Go to your app store.
  3. Search Pure Flix.
  4. Click on the Pure Flix app in the app store.
  5. Click on “Install”.

Once the download is complete, open and sign into Pure Flix. If you are still experiencing issues continue on to the next steps.

Step 6: Check for Available Updates

  1. Go to the home screen on your device.
  2. Go to Settings on your device.
  3. Click on Software Update.
  4. If there is an available update, please proceed with updating.

Step 7: Reboot the Device

  1. Turn off your casting device.
  2. Wait for 1 full minute.
  3. Turn it back on.

Note: Please be certain your device is fully powered off for at least 60 seconds, following onscreen prompts if needed.
